UOG Women’s Soccer Loses 7-4 To Hyundai FC In GFA Futsal Soccer Playoffs
The University of Guam Women’s Soccer Team lost 7-4 on Sunday afternoon in the Guam
Sports Complex Gym in the Guam Football Association Women’s Futsal League Playoffs
to the Hyundai FC in a close match for the Lady Tritons.
Hyundai started the match fast, as they scored two early goals to make 2-0 in the first few minutes of the game. But UOG came back to tie it with 2 of the 4 goals that UOG's Koholali’i Maertens would score on the day. Hyundai scored another 2 quick goals to go up 4-2 while still in the first half, but Maertens scored again to make 4-3 at half-time.
The teams both struggled to score in the early part of the 2nd half, but Maertens would score her 4th goal to make it 4-4 with about 10 minutes left in the match, but Hyundai would put forth another scoring spree to add 3 goals to put the Tritons away and win the match 7-4.
The Lady Tritons ended the season with a 2-5 record and finished the regular season in 5th place of 7 teams. UOG Lady Tritons will be back in the fall to defend their GFA Women’s League D2 Title.
