UOG Tritons Win Match 8-7 Over Bobcat Rovers
The University of Guam Men’s Soccer Team won their Guam Football Association Landshark Beach Soccer Match with the Bobcat
Rovers 8-7.
Initially, there was some confusion about the score, but after consulting the referees,
it was decided the Tritons won 8-7.
"I was keeping score in the bleachers and every time someone yelled out a score from
the playing area, we were at the same score," said UOG Athletic Director Doug Palmer.
"It did get exciting at the end, as UOG scored 3 goals in the final minute to win
the match, if a mistake was made, that would be the time it happened.”
The match was tied 2-2 after the 1st period, UOG was leading 5-4 after the 2nd 15
minute period and the Bobcat Rovers were up 7-5 before the Tritons rallied in the
final minute to either win or tie the match.
UOG was led by Jacques Diambra with 7 goals on the night.
Tritons finish regular season 2-2 and will play Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m. in first
round of Beach Playoffs vs. Quality Distributors at the GFA National Training Facility.
