UOG Triton Women's Soccer Signs Two to Letters of Intent, Scholarships

The University of Guam Women's Soccer Team signed two players to UOG Athletic Letters of Intent (LOI) and scholarships to play for the Tritons in 2017-18.

UOG Freshman Mellanne Rasmussen and Ariya Cruz from Okkodo High School recently signed LOIs at the Triton Athletic Department in the UOG Calvo Field House.

University of GuamRiley Cruz (Sister), Front Row (Left to Right) - Celine Cruz (Aunt), Ariya Cruz, Katrina Cruz (Mother)Cruz captained her high school team to their highest finish ever in women's soccer. She has represented Guam on several National teams to play in multiple international competitions. She's also played for the Lady Crusherswho won the Guam Football Association Women's Division I Championship this past spring and competed in the recent Guam High School All-Star Game played at the GFA National Training Center.

 

 

 

 

 

University of GuamUOG Women's Soccer Coach Rod Hidilgo, Mellanne Rasmussen, Melissa Rasmussen (Mother)Rasmussen is a 2016 graduate of Okkodo High School where she was captain of the women's soccer team for three years and made the All-Island 2nd Team for two seasons as a defensive player. She was Youth Athlete of the Year in the RWYL while playing for the Islanders club team.

Rasmussen also played for the Guam National Team as a youth player in 2010, 2011 and 2013 and traveled with the team to China and Vietnam to represent Guam in international competition.

Most recently, she played for the Lady Crushers in the spring of this year as they won the Guam Football Association Women's Division 1 Championship and where she was teammates Cruz.
