UOG Men's Soccer Wins Final Regular Season Match of Year
The University of Guam Men's Soccer Team won their final match of the Guam Football Association Men's League (Division II)
2016-17 season 5-2 over the Crushers FC with Dylan Naputi leading the way by scoring
three goals in the match. Joseph Quan and Reniel Relucio added one goal apiece as
well.
But it was the Crushers who started the scoring that night, making the first goal
only 3 minutes into the match. UOG answered back at the 10 minute mark to tie it 1-1.
The Tritons would go ahead 2-1 a bit later and go into half-time with the lead.
UOG would score again early in the 2nd half to make it 3-1, but that would not hold
long. The Crushers scored again to make it 3-2. But UOG finished the Crushers off
with 2 more goals to win 5-2.
UOG finished the season 14-6-0 in their first season of competition in over a decade.
The Crushers are 4-12-3 with one more match to play on their schedule.
UOG was given a bye in the first round of Bank of Guam, GFA Cup and will play in the
"Sweet Sixteen" of the Cup against the winner of the Pago Pay Disasters and Hyundaii
Family FC (who plays on April 27) on May 4th at 9:00 p.m. at the GFA National Training
Center.
