UOG Men’s Soccer Team Opens Beach Season With 14-4 Loss
The University of Guam Men’s Soccer Team opened the Guam Football Association Landshark Beach Soccer Season with a 14-4 loss
to the Bank of Guam Strykers at the GFA National Training Center on Saturday night.
The Tritons were playing a man short all night, as the UOG squad could only muster
4 players for the event.
But UOG did start out well and jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Jacques Diambra.
But the lack of numbers began to take its toll on the Tritons, as the sand saps the
strength out of the legs very quickly, and UOG was down by the end of the first period
as the Strykers began to score at will. Diambra and Ben Wiegand would score two more
goals for UOG, but the Strykers would add 14 to the scoreboard for an easy win.
The Tritons will return to the “Beach” on Wednesday night, June 21 at 7:00 p.m. vs
the Bobcat Rovers at the GFA NTC Beach Field. The Rovers had a 3-3 tie with Quality
Distributors on Saturday night.
