The University of Guam Men's Basketball Team pulled out an amazing win on Triton Night at the UOG Calvo Field House as the Tritons defeated MacTech 82-81 on a final second jumper by Ryan Nangauta as the buzzer sounded.

The game was a back and forth contest in the first quarter, with UOG leading at the end of the first period, 21-19. The MacTech Nerds broke open the close came in the 2nd period with a run in the last 5 minutes and was up 45-35 at half-time.

UOG came back in the 3rd period and was only down 62-59 at the end of 3rd quarter after trailing by 16 (53-37) early in the period. UOG was down by 5 (71-66) with 5 minutes to go in the game, but UOG cameback and went up 80-77 after a shooting foul and a technical was called on MacTech, which led to 3 made foul shots for the Tritons. But MacTech tied it up on a 3-point play and took the lead after being fouled again and making 1 of 2 foul shots.University of GuamThe UOG Triton Men's Basketball Team

UOG had the ball, trailing by 1 point with 5 seconds left when they used a timeout to set-up a final play, the timeout placed the ball at mid-court but their first attempt at a shot was knocked out of bounds with 1 second left and the ball placed under the UOG basket. The inbound pass went to Nangauta who hit his shot at the buzzer, but the drama lasted a few more seconds, as the referees gathered together to talk about the shot. They finally awarded the two points and the victory to the Tritons.

UOG was led by Ryan Nangauta with 20 points, Dez Fikes with 17 poijnts and 16 rebounds and AJ Carlos with 16 points. MacTech was led by UOG Housing Director Jonathan Triplett with 30 points and 8 rebounds.

UOG is now 2-7 in the GBA Season 3 and play the Phoenix Sons on Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
