UOG Men's Basketball Loses to MVP Marauders
The University of Guam Men's Basketball Team dropped a 117-67 game to the MVP on Thursday night at the UOG Calvo Field House in
a GBA Season 3 game.
The Tritons were down 21-2 in the first 5 minutes of the game and down 30-17 at the
end of the first quarter. Unfortunately, they weren't able to make a run in the game
to even out the score.
UOG was down 54-35 at half-time. The MVP outscored UOG 35-to-9 in the 3rd period to
put the game away 89-44 at the end of the period. The final score of game was 117-67.
The Tritons were led by Ryan Nangauta with 15 points and Elias David and Jorge Piolo
with 10 points each. Piolo added 8 assists and 3 steals. JP Cruz scored 46 for the
MVP to lead all scorers, Joe Blas added 19 for the MVP as well. Dez Fikes had 11 rebounds
for the Tritons and added 8 points while Christian Kakonda had 16 rebounds for the
MVPs plus 14 points.
The MVP had 30 free throws that night, making 19 of them. UOG only had 6 free throws,
making all of them. The MVP out rebounded the Tritons 68 to 39.
UOG is now 1-7 in the GBA and play MacTech next on Thursday, May 4 at 6:00 p.m., Triton
Night at the UOG Calvo Field House.
