UOG Men's Basketball Lets One Get Away
The University of Guam Men's Basketball Team let one get away on Sunday in the Summer Jam League at the Tamuning Gym as the Tritons
lost 71-70 to the Falcons in overtime.
The match-up was close for most of the game, with the Tritons sticking to a 3-5 point
lead for the majority of the game. UOG was up 31-26 at half-time and remained with
the lead for the most of the 2nd half until a final surge by the Falcons put the game
even, and it came down to free throws at the end of game for both teams.
AJ Carlos was fouled by the Falcons as the horn sounded to end regulation with the
Tritons down by 2 points. The first free throw rattled and rolled around the rim and
finally went in to pull UOG to within a point, and Carlos swished the 2nd one to tie
the game and put it into overtime at 66-66.
The Tritons were not as good with free throws in overtime and missed a couple of critical
ones to lose 71-70.
UOG is now 1-3 in the Summer Jam League and play the Bombers next Sunday (July 16)
at 8:00 p.m. in the Tamuning Gym.
