UOG Men’s Basketball Drops Their Opening Game of the Summer Jam League
The University of Guam Men’s Basketball Team drooped their opening game of the Summer Jam League to the Tamuning Typhoons 81-63
at the Tamuning Gym on Wednesday night.
The much bigger Typhoons, featuring 6’11” Christian Kakonda, jumped out to an early
20 point lead over the much smaller Tritons, but UOG fought back with their quickness
and was able to pull within 10 points at half-time, 42-32.
UOG was able to stay within 10 points of the Typhoons most of the 2nd half, but a
sloppy last 2 minutes led to the 18 point loss, 81-63.
The new Tritons who have signed to play with UOG for the fall of 2017 can begin play
after August 1 as summer leagues count in the 2016-17 academic year for UOG athletic
participation.
UOG is now 0-1 in the Summer Jam League and will play again on Sunday, July 2 at 6:00pm
against the Mr. Rubbishman club at the Tamuning Gym.
