UOG Cancer Research Center Hosts “YOU are the Key to Cancer Prevention” Symposium for Health Providers

The University of Guam Cancer Research Center is inviting health providers in Guam to participate in a symposium highlighting the latest information on HPV and cervical cancer in Guam.  The symposium, entitled “YOU are the Key to Cancer Prevention,” will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2017, from 7:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Guam.

Highlights of the symposium include presentations by Dr. Rachael Consoli on “Updates on Cervical Cancer Screening Guidelines” and Dr. Amanda Del Rosario, who will talk about the “Prevention of Cervical and Other HPV-Related Infections and Cancers – The Role of HPV Vaccine.” Dr. Yvette Paulino from the UOG Cancer Research Center will discuss “Distribution of Cervical Cancer and HPV,” while Dr. Lilnabeth Somera and Dr. Ana Joy Mendez will speak about “Health Providers’ Perceptions and Perceived Challenges in Guam.”

The symposium is open to all healthcare professionals.  Three (3) CEUs and three (3) CMEs are pending approval by the Guam Nurses Association and the Guam Medical Society, respectively.
