Toothfairies Beat UOG Men’s Basketball 109-66
The University of Guam Men’s Basketball Team lost on Sunday afternoon at the UOG Calvo Field House 109-66 to the Toothfairies.
The Toothfairies came out hot in the first quarter, starting with a 17-0 run to open
the game as UOG started an unfamiliar line-up due to players showing up late for the
game, and it was a hole the Tritons could never recover from as the Toothfairies led
21-9 at the end of the first quarter and 49-33 at the end of the half.
The Toothfairies started the 2nd half hot as well and put up 35 points in the 3rd
quarter to push ahead by 31 points at the end of the period, 84-53. UOG could only
score 13 points in the 4th quarter as the Toothfairies won the game by 43 points 109-66.
The Toothfairies dominated the paint, scoring 62 points while the Tritons could only
score 30 points in that area. UOG was also out rebounded 46 to 34.
Leading scores for the Tritons were Ryan Nangauta with 15 points and AJ Carlos and
Dez Fikes added 10 points each. James Stakes for the Toothfairies scored 25 to lead
the defending GBA Champions.
UOG is now 1-6 in the GBA and play the MVP on Thursday, April 27 in the UOG Calvo
Field House at 8:00 p.m.
