Storyboard 16 to Launch May 12
The sixteenth issue of the University of Guam’s literary journal Storyboard features
a wonderful collection of poetry, prose and visual art exploring the unique identity,
culture, and history of the people of Guam and the greater Micronesian region. The
University of Guam Press and the UOG Division of English and Applied Linguistics will
launch the journal onFriday, May 12, 2017, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the atrium of the UOG Tan Lam Pek Kim
English and Communication Building.
An editorial board of UOG faculty members reviewed 143 submissions and selected 25
pieces. “The content may vary – from family to solitude, from love lost to love made,
from sea to land and back to sea again, from greetings to farewells, from peace and
war to life and death – but all of these authors and artists share a passionate commitment
to craft, language both verbal and visual, and, above all, the artistic process that
we trust you will admire, criticize and enjoy,” described Storyboard 16 Editor David
Gugin. “I for one am quite grateful for their contributions.”
Many of the writers and artists featured in Storyboard 16 will be present at the launch
to share and discuss their work. The current and past issues of Storyboard will also
be available for sale.
