Violence Against Women Prevention Program Hosts Sexual Assault Awareness Month Events
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The University of Guam Violence Against Women Prevention Program (VAWPP) will be conducting several educational outreach events throughout the month
to raise awareness.
Bystander Intervention Campus Education and Outreach Campaign
VAWPP will be conducting a month-long, campus-wide campaign designed to educate students
on bystander intervention and its role in preventing sexual assault, domestic and
dating violence, and stalking on campus. They will set up an informational table display
at the entrance of each building on the following days from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Sexual Assault Awareness Month Documentary Screening of The Hunting Ground
In collaboration with Victim Advocates Reaching Out (VARO), VAWPP will also host a
screening of The Hunting Ground, a 2015 documentary on sexual assault on college campuses in the U.S. mainland. The
screening will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on April 20, 2017 in the UOG CLASS Lecture Hall.
