Students from the University of Guam Pacific Women Writers class (EN461/561) gave a presentation at the 8th Regional Conference on Island Sustainability titled: "(Re)presenting Pacific Women as Agents for Environmental Change." The conference was held April 19-21 at the Hyatt Regency Guam.

The students discussed the impact Pacific island women have made in articulating environmental degradation while mobilizing community activism. They also questioned how the media’s representation of Pacific island women has complicated the response to such degradation.
