Charter Day 2021
This year marks the 53rd anniversary of the University of Guam’s Charter and the 69th anniversary of the founding of the University of Guam.
Charter Day is typically the largest community event held on the University of Guam campus every year. More than 6,000 people enjoy a family atmosphere with a fun-filled day of food, games and activities. This year, however, we will celebrate virtually!

This year’s Charter Day theme,“Transforming Lives, Advancing Communities” is the University's Vision Statement devleoped under the Para Hulo' Strategic Plan. It recognizes the scope of influence and positive impact the University of Guam has contributed to society through its research, students, and alumni throughout the world. The theme also highlights the University’s continuous effort towards becoming the engine of progress in Guam and the region through its continued mission of “Ina, Deskubre, Setbe – To Enlighten, To Discover, To Serve.
Governor Lou Leon Guerrero and Lt. Governor Josh Tenorio proclaim March 9 as Charter Day and the month of March as Charter Month during a virtual proclamation signing held on February 24.
