UOG Announces Winners of High School Chemistry Titration Competition

Twenty-eight students from seven high schools participated in 2016 University of Guam High School Chemistry Titration Competition which was held on Charter Day, March 8, 2016 at the UOG Science Building. The participating schools included Harvest Christian Academy, Academy of Our Lady of Guam, John F. Kennedy High School, St. John’s School, St. Paul Christian School, Notre Dame High School, and Father Duenas Memorial School.

The students competed in three categories: Best Laboratory Skill, Best Individual and Best Team. First, second, and third places were awarded for each of the categories. The competition was coordinated by the UOG Chemistry faculty, staff and teaching assistants and sponsored by the Senior Vice President’s Office and the College of Natural and Applied Sciences Dean’s Office.

 

Best Laboratory Skill

First: Karen Bacalia, Academy of Our Lady of Guam

Second: Keone Aliphios, Father Duenas Memorial High School

Third: Jing Wang, Academy of Our Lady of Guam

 

Best Individual

First: Joerelyn Ollet, JFK High School

Second: Sai Gogineni, Harvet Christian Academy

Third: Ronald del Rosario, St Paul’s Christian School

 

Best Team

First: Joerelyn Ollet and Kristan Aquino, JFK High School

Second: Sai Gogineni and Haeshitha Gogineni, Harvest Christian Academy

Third: Juan Javier Lacson and Nathaniel Santos, Father Duenas Memorial High School
